Decorative Painting - TeaTime Teddy - (DeLucca Craft Shop)

Beginner/Intermediate Class - 3 sessions
Classes will be held at DeLucca's Craft Shop. This is a painting of a pensive little bear waiting to be cuddled. It's painted on a masonite panel to be inserted into a 13.5"x10" wooden tray. During the first session we'll basecoat, learn the floating process, begin the pillow pattern, and hopefully, create the wreath. During the second session, we'll finish painting everything except the Teddy Bear which will be completed during the third session. Several painting techniques and some color theory will be learned.
THREE brushes you need to purchase prior to classtime are 5/8" Angle brush, #4 Flat and #0 Script Liner; a 1/2" Angle is helpful, but not necessary.

Beginner/Intermediate Class - 2 Projects in 3 sessions
First project is of a Daylily and Bamboo painted on a rusty lid for a small heart-shaped paper mache box. The second project (Lucky Bunny pictured below) is a portrait of a Bunny pensively chewing on a piece of clover; it is painted on a small bentwood box. Several painting techniques and some color theory will be learned.

FABRIC PAINTING!! These pansies are painted on denim fabric. This class will be a "Bring your own Denim shirt, or purse or apron or whatever" - It's important that you wash/dry whatever you bring to paint on. I will supply the paints, patterns, textile medium... There will also be patterns for optional bumble bee that you can add to your painting !!BRUSHES needed are fabric bristle brushes: I used white bristle brushes -a scrubber and #4 round.

I Just LOVE Hydrangea! How about you?? This acrylic painting is on an 8" clay pot. There's two types of Hydrangeas and a Pink-edged Sulphur Butterfly- the colors are wonderful! This would make a special gift for mom, sister, or best buddy. BRUSHES used: 5/8 Angle and Liner (an add'l smaller angle and a stylus might also be helpful)

VINYL 14x16 WALLHANGING: This Hare and friends are paying a warm tribute to our family/friends overseas. This is not a difficult painting, but there's lots of detail. The first class will be spent basecoating; and during the second class, we'll add all the details. THEN, hang it on your door with pride. This Corny fellow has stolen my heart and he's painted in different poses on all four sides of this 7" square mache box with a rusty lid. It's great for cookie or candy giving. We'll learn to basecoat, float and use a liner. This is part of a 2-session class -See the lovely Christmas Ornament clay pot below for the other class project. Beginner/Intermediate Class - 2 Projects in 2 sessions
It'll soon be Christmas! It's never too early to start thinking about the upcoming holiday. The ornaments painted on the 6" clay pot are just glowing. We'll basecoat and add metallic paint to these ornaments along with learning the easy trick to create reflected light in the shadow area and stippling some greenery along the rim, along with some easy lettering. Decoratively painted clay pots are great for gift giving for flowers, birding items, bathroom or kitchen items, etc. We'll work on both this and the above "Meet Corny" project over 2 class periods. BRUSHES Needed: 5/8 Angle; smaller angle or flat; #4 or #6 Round; Small Liner; Large Stipple brush

Intermediate - x1 session
This project is painted on an appx. 13x50" vinyl table runner that has been stitched the entire way around it to prevent curling - I will also have a partial pattern transfer and painting completed for you. The Pumpkin, Candles and Plate are painted on one end and a single glowing candle is on the opposite end. The candle holders are little crocks- what fun! We'll learn how to make an easy GLOWING candle light. All you'll need for your table centerpiece is a pumpkin, candles and some leaves! If you need a shorter table runner, notify me ASAP. BRUSHES needed: 5/8" Angle; smaller angle or flat brush; Liner Brush; a Ruler

Pumpkin, Candle, Indian Corn and Pansies!! We'll paint this lovely still-life on a large 12X18 slate and then we'll antique the edges for a rich patina. Also on this project, we'll be painting with crackle paint to create an antique wooden candlestick. When finished, you'll have an heirloom quality painting to be proud of. BRUSHES Needed: 5/8" Angle; 1/2" Angle; Stipple; #4 or #6 round; small liner; and don't forget an old brush for adding the antiquing medium.

Brand New Idea!! I call this a "2 FER" project (Fast, Easy, Relaxing). This is an inexpensive class to say thank you to those of you who patronize MGA studio and Happy Holidays to Everyone! We'll be painting two easy projects, but at intermediate speed. First, we'll paint a charming O! Christmas Tree with red candles glowing on a box, and then a serene Snowman under a starlit sky on a small wooden sled. This evening, you'll have two gifts to take home!!

(Sweet Angel project description is below) Trompe L'oeil is a french word meaning "fool the eye". We'll be painting candies on a quality wooden plate shaped like a Christmas tree that will look like they could be picked up and eaten! Your plate will never look empty! This class will provide a variety of painting methods. For instance, the letters, J-O-Y and the Star candy will be fashioned from candy cane; crackle paint (deep green with red crackling)will be the plate color and you'll create a lovely lace doilie using a sponge in the middle of the plate before adding the sweet treats. Santa sends out a glowing welcome from atop this 9" tall wooden candlestick that holds a tealight. It can stand alone or be added to your other holiday decor. The background can be your choice of blue or green that will be antiqued if desired. (the picture shown is NOT Antiqued) His rich-looking fur is stippled and his facial details are a kindly expression.
